Aphonse and Angèle Lancel launched a line of accessories for smokers signed "A. Lancel."
1900 - LANCEL comes to signify the ideal Parisian lifestyle, from personal accessories to elegant gifts.
1929 - LANCEL launches numerous innovative designs like the umbrella bag and the automatic lighter, and moves to a four-story location at 8 Place de l'Opera in the heart of Paris.
1950 - LANCEL creates the first soft-sided baggage, the 'kangourou', made from nylon canvas and equipped with an outside pocket.
1980 - The Champs-Elysées location opens in 1981. The iconic Bucket bag is reinvented and in 1987 becomes the best-selling Elsa. LANCEL goes international.
1990 - LANCEL creates ad campaigns full of surprises and fun: color, modernity and sparkling humour. In 1997 the Maison is acquired by Richemont.
2000 - Taking inspiration from its archives, LANCEL creates "Premier Flirt" in 2006.
2014 - The Charlie bag is created With its unisex name, grained leather and considered detailing, Charlie embodies the LANCEL spirit.
2016 - LANCEL celebrates 140 years of history, daring style and savoir-faire.
2018 - Lancel joins the Italian leather goods group Piquadro.
2020 - Launch of the "Play with Lancel" campaign concept.
