"Dressing gentlemen and tirelessly helping them to create their own style despite fashions and trends have always been my course of action,
if not my obsession.
I wanted to change men, at least the perspective on the male silhouette."
Francesco Smalto (1927-2015)

In the last fifty years, the Maison Smalto has contributed to the perpetuation of bespoke tailoring tradition with constantly evolving styles, while the Smalto ready-to-wear collections have marked fifty years of boldness and creativity. Bespoke tailoring and ready-to-wear design are generally entirely distinct, except when one has succeeded in bridging the gap between them.

Since its beginning, Francesco Smalto had a special relationship with artists and the world of cinema. He signed nearly a hundred wardrobes for many actors such as: Jean-Paul Belmondo, Alain Delon, Fernando Rey.
Today the house designed the official wardrobe for theFrench Football Team. Maison Smalto has created personalised suits for each selected player.
